One of the best Sci-Fi movies ever made.

Starman is a heart warming love story that is just a plain old fashioned "feel good" movie. There is real chemistry between Jeff Bridges and Karen Black. They both do a wonderful job as Black conveys the sense of desperation at first, but slowly moves over to Starman's side. Bridges deserved the nomination he received for Best Actor. He is so good at acting as innocent as a child as Black explains what things like "love" and "death" mean to us earthlings. The film is rated PG, but pushes the rating to the limit with words like "s*it" "up yours" and the middle finger jesture. We watched it with our ten year old and found the message of the movie to be worth the mildly offensive language and jestures. Highly recommended. |
