Not your usual War Picture

I don't know if anyone ever reads my posts. But if you have you do see a lot of war pictures reviewed, and all of them get high marks.
Here is another one. This is not your typical war picture, nor is it your typical prisoner of war picture. I would best descibe this a dramady. It is definately a drama, but there are some elements of comedy woven in. The director of the movie, Billy Wilder I thin kis known more for his comedies.
This is one of those pictures that will keep you interested from beginning to end.
It is full of many characters, many of them memorable. Perhaps this was partial inspiration for Hogan's Heros but it did look somewhat realistic and I think the underlying message of the picture was very realistic.
IF this movie comes on TV watch it, if not rent it sometime you will not be disapointed. |
