I first came upon this movie when I was at my aunt's house at age 5. Not a fan of old movies and disgusted by musicals, I forcefully watched THE SOUND OF MUSIC. 3 hours later, I sat in front of the television screen mesmerized... I witnessed cinematic magic and brilliance! I loved it so much I borrowed it from my aunt and then pestered my parents into buying me the tape. I watched, rewinded, watched again, rewinded, watched again, etc. Now... 11 years later, I still haven't seen a movie that could live up to, and make me feel the joy I felt watching THE SOUND OF MUSIC! The movie tells the amazing story of Maria, a mischevious Austrian nun with a love for music and a habit of getting into trouble. Maria is forced out of the abbey to help raise and nanny the "SEVEN" children of Capitain Von Trapp, a strict, bitter, widower who runs his house as if it was one of his ships! Through music and her personal charm, Maria manages to win the hearts of the seven children AND their father. Withsongs used in a jaw-dropping and hypnotising sceneries, spectacular acting, exciting plot, and truly the best songs used in a movie, THE SOUND OF MUSIC can't fail to be irresistable to all! This is my all-time favourite movie... watch it for sure... I'm sure it will be one of yours! |
