If there is a movie franchise hell this film is a permanent resident. Horribly acted, painful to watch, scripted by two chimps on lithium. What were they thinking? This megabomb film is missing the two key ingredients that made the first two in the series a fun ride; director Hal Needham and Burt Reynolds. Jerry Reed is better playing second fiddle to the charismatic Reynolds. As a lead he cannot carry this film. His open eyed glee at being the Bandit is irritating. This film is celluloid clichés at the bottom of the dumpster on a hot summer day. hitting shopping carts and jumping everything, including the shark - ya get me. . I will not explain the plot because I do not want you to lose brain cells. I'll leave you with this; watch this junk if; You are a highschool dropout who thinks the confederate flag is the world banner - If you enjoyed Cannonball Run II - If Big and little Enis, Jackie Gleason, and a horrible Sally Field Clone are on your list of dinner guests - If, if . . "You're a good ole boy, never meanin no harm, it's all you ever saw been in trouble with law since the day they were born." As this franchise smolders and burns and I fan the flames with relief, a smile crosses my face as I watch a Black Trans drive off into the sunset dusted and dented after having jumped the shark.
