So not funny, so not clever...

This movie is just not funny. Given that it's supposed to be a comedy, that's really all you have to say about it.
There are a few clever lines and a few clever scenes, but they aren't enough to support an entire film, even if that film is only 90 minutes long.
Also, if you don't enjoy slapstick humor (which I don't), you won't appreciate the handful of times when "the chase is on" at high film speed with old-time piano playing for background. <Groan.>
I can not help but think that anyone who likes this movie likes it only because s/he thinks it's the "right thing" to think about a Woody Allen movie. To each his own, though. To each his own. |
