Obviously I find this particular movie Memorable, after all I still enjoy seeing it every once in a while. The "Silent Running" story perhaps has more meaning now with the global warning, our earth slowly heating up, Tornado's hitting England's London, in her sister city of London Canada, all schools including college and university's were closed for the first time in 30 years, killer huricanes, tsunami's, polution. On a more personal note, we are now soaking our kids in sun block and then lathering ourselves. It is no longer just a global problem, it is an individual problem. We are creating history every day, writing it as we go, science fiction is a creation of one possible future.
As that possible future seems to come just a little closer, will it be a case of life imitating art. |
