4 stars-One of the funniest films ever made

This is quite possibly one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Peter Sellers is at his comedic best portraying Inspector Clouseau in the second (and best) Pink Panther film. His timing, mannerisms, and comedic French accent make for a perfect comedic performance. Herbert Lom is charming too as Chief Inspector Dreyfus, the commissioner who can't stand the bumbling Clouseau's antics, and unimaginable success. Sellers fumbles (quite literally) through the film attempting to solve a series of murders, and is woefully blind to the accused (a ravishing Elke Summers) Maria Gambrellie, and continues to release her from prison in order to draw out the murderer. Whether narrowly avoiding an assassination attempt, falling into a fountain, or doing battle with his butler Kato, Peter Seller's puts on a comedic performance that is the stuff of cinema legend. The billiards scene is quite possibly one of the most hilarious ever filmed. For pure joy and laughs, "A Shot in the Dark" is one film you can't do without!
