a clasically funny movie

"a shot in the dark" has got to be the funniest, most enjoyable movie from the 'pink panther' series.
i'm rarely disappointed by the ability of classic comedeies to seriously deliver laughs and novel surprises (leading to more laughs) and this film is one of the crowns of this category. sellers is awesomely funny and ridiculous as clouseau, acting his character perfectly, and making every visual gag and wierd scene work to full (but never over-done) effect.
the story does get a bit confusing here and there (a murder mystery a little too heavy on 'twists'), but the fine acting and comedy work more than makes up for that. |
