once again that lovalble robot #5 is back but with a new name JOHNNY5, and he's out for input. this film was just as good as the first in almost every way except that johnny's laser was replaced with a utillity pack :-^(. but still 5 is the best sci-fi character since ET. i hate family films but once again 5 doesn't fail to deliver a good story along with great characters.
this time ben, the indian genius from SHORT CIRCUIT is trying to start a buisiness of his own, so he calls up Newton for help in montana and he sends who else but mister 5 to help build the toy replicas of Johnny. they soon get caught up in a high tech criminal heist and well lets just say things don't go well for 5.
the way it is presented is more enjoyable than the first one, Short Circuit is presented in a military manner while Short Circuit2 is presented in a way that makes 5 more understandable in that he is a living thing with feelings and emotions, one of wich is the promonint display of curiosity. along with this more playful presentation comes a more intresting character, 5 is still learning about his surrounding world and living with Newton in Montana for two years dosen't help with the fact that he is now in the city facing confusing criminals and strange people. the character of 5 is much more understandable in this film and every bit as lovable.
the film still holds firm to the original in that it still says that life is not a malfunction and that people are confusing things.
i give this film 41/2 out of five points.
this film is rated PG for language, comic violence, and some crude humor.
once again it will leave you screaming for more input! |
