Nothing like the book

It's a perfectly good film but I was just so suprised at how different from the book it was. For a start Jack doesn't try to kill his wife and son with and axe, it's a roque mallet. He NEVER says Here's Johnny or All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy. The cook guy actually lives and finally the book actually explains more to why Jack went insane. In the film he just seems like a bad person but the book kind of makes you understand and feel sorry for him. |
