they don't have any presence. maybe this is the films one element of "realism". do black people in NY really have to suffer like this? they just get slapped around, extorted & handcuffed. occassionally they beg for mercy & tremble. hmm ... the monstrosity of the NYPD could have been better portrayed. as well as serpico's unwillingness to really do anythin', besides feel sorry for himself & whine/moan to his girlfriends/dog. couldn't they have arrested some white people? |
