A Great Performance but flawed all the way...

The aspect that shines from everything else in this movie is Al Pacino's amazing performance that is in one word: Stunning.
The film's title, Serpico, is as all of you know, a real cop that's so honest he bailed his whole team out. The story is told in flashback, with Pacino being rushed to the hospital in the beginning and in the end it is told why he was sent there.
Sure, this may be a good film, but it's not great. You would be expecting more from such a director as Sidney Lumet. It's a little boring, just to be honest, but there are exciting parts and highlights in Pacino's performance ( Pacino deals with the rapist, and the shootout near the end).
Although it has it's flaws, it's still worthy to be seen. |
