There aren't many movies that can be defined as Christmas classics, but Scrooged is one of them. It takes a little of bit of It's A Wonderful Life, a dash of Scrooge, and a pinch of The Grinch. Stir well and you have Scrooged. Only a huge sense of us knowing what will happen sets the film back.
Bill Murray is hilarious as the common-day scrooge who also happens to be a TV producer. If you get the joke, the movie's for you. This man isn't cold-hearted, he's downright unlikable-he sends his brother a bath towel, fires an employee on Christmas, and says that an offensive ad that gives an old woman a heart attack "publicity you can't buy". But when his deceased boss comes to warn him,and he starts having hallucinations, the 3 christmas spirits start coming.
I reccomend this movie in December, May, July, whenever. Because you know a good Christmas movie when it gets you in the spirit anytime of the year. |
