Most movies excel in certain areas and consequently fall short in others. The new Matrix movies for example, put the special effects world on it's knees and said "Blow me bitch"!!!...but produced little in the way of plot twist or dramatic story telling. In thrashers like Freddy Vs. Jason...the dialouge is hilarious and the kills are unmatched...but the acting and story is far below par. It's rare that movie exceeds in all areas...and that is exactly what Pacino and crew achieved with Scarface. The acting is superb from the beginning...as seen in the interegation room in the opening moments. Oliver Stone's story has so many twists and turns that the movie easily keeps you on the edge of your seat for the entire film. The action is suspenseful, the characters grow on you from the get-go...and the replay value is higher than any movie out there. Watching it with a friend that's never seen it is worth every minute just to see their lives change before their eyes. The message is persuasively given to the audience through Tony's actions and fate...yet you can't help but feel sorry for him and relate to his mindset on the world. This movie has it all and will forever be the single greatest movie ever made by anyone at anytime...anywhere in the world. Nice guys do finish last...so "Say Goodnight To The Bad Guy"!!! |
