I love John Cusack in just about anything he is in, and this movie is by far, the best of the best. To know Lloyd is to love him. His character is the ultimate teenager. Popular, average student, in love with the top student of his graduating class. After she gets to know him, she falls in love, which I dont think anyone could resist doing. But after some of her father's meddling and then his dark secret unraveling, her relationship with Lloyd is tested and broken. Lloyd tries to return to her heart with a song that she loved, Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes". The most beautiful, heart-wrenching song.
This movie has some of the best quotes in it. The most memorable to me was at the end,
Diane: Nobody thinks it will work, do they?
Lloyd: No. You just described every great success story.
That was so perfect. I just loved it.
This movie is a must see... a classic teen love story... like Romeo and Juliet, but with a happy ending. |
