Wonderful, far-above average teen romance between brainy scholar Diane Court (Ione Skye) and "basic" but lovable student Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack).
Diane is a good girl who is very close to her father (John Mahoney). She has spent her whole life taking dozens of extra courses which leads to earning a fellowship in England. On the night of graduation, Lloyd takes her to a party, and they become friends, spending as much time together as possible before she leaves.
"Say Anything" is a touching romantic comedy that's also very funny. Cameron Crowe penned a fantastic script, and the film has great performances, John Cusack being the standout with his adorable portrayal of Lloyd. Lili Taylor is a hoot as Lloyd's singer/songwriter friend Corey. A great romantic comedy you can watch over and over. |
