Saturday Night Fever is one of the most influential films of the 70's. The clothes, styles, music, etc. exempflies the era. John Travolta gives a terrific performance as Tony, he is supposed to be a jerk, but Travolta gives him crediblity and likable due to his rich performance. His acting is great-The supporting players are well chosen and terrific as well in their respected roles. The songs from the Bee Gees are amazing-they are not only great pop songs-but they tell a story and support the film. Usually, songs just play in the background and fade, the songs never do that here. They are vital to the film's sucess. Never dated storyline because the story is rich nd multilayered, wonderful. |
