HIS MOTHER'S EYES

Roman Polaksi is, of course, one of the best and also most infamous directors of them all. In ROSEMARY'S BABY, Roman has delivered to us this masterpiece of the macabre, the first film, I believe, that places the story in a so-called "normal, everyday environment" and then tricks us, its main character, excellently played by Mia Farrow, and then repeatedly tricks us until we think we're going nuts right along with poor, nervous Rosemary. Ruth Gordon won a well earned Oscar for her portrayal of a nice, but nosy neighbor in the apartment building where Rosemary and her husband have moved in. But is she really just a nice old lady...or is she....well, you'll just have to rent this film and see. Great, terrific, riveting, impressive...all of these adjectives do nothing do describe how thrilling and excellent ROSEMARY'S BABY is to watch...time and time again.
Best line, "He has his mother's eyes." Indeed!
