I absolutely love the Magnificient Seven. One of the best westerns of all time. But, it should have been left alone. The first movie was original (although a remake of the Seven Samauri). Trying to milk it for another hit was a mistake. The next set of gunfighters were nothing like the original. Even Yul Brenner seemed like his heart wasn't in this production. It really shows. The acting is pretty lame at times. There's action, of course, but it doesn't come anywhere near the original. Somethings are better left alone. Some sequals are good, and some are bad. This one is bad. |
