The infamous marijuana propaganda film
by Greg Linsun (movies profile)
Jul 8, 2009
Well if anyone doesn't think the government's ever lied to them they certainly haven't seen the film Reefer Madness. The premise is simple, a group of high school kids experiment on marijuana which 'magically' sets off a series of (laughably) violent events and because this was a propaganda film everything is (also laughably) overdone (ex: when characters smoke some begin to smile devilishly into the camera). This may be the first true accidental comedy of cinemas. If the rest of the film is ridiculously hilarious to you, the fact that parents actually bought into this during the time of its release certainly will. There's no question that drugs are by no means a good thing, but this film may be worse than any "menace" as they say in Reefer Madness anyone may mess with. |
