Judith Anderson is a phenomenon!

When I rented this movie, I thought it would be good, but I didn't know that it would be one of my all-time favorite movies, if not my very favorite! Joan Fontaine is wonderful as the typical bewildered Gothic heroine (sometimes she can be pretty annoying, but she keeps us rooting for her, anyway), Laurence Olivier as pretty good as the unaccountably RUDE Maxim (even at the end, they don't give a good explanation for why he always has to acts so INCONSIDERATE all the time to poor Joan Fontaine's character). The person who really made the movie for me, though, was definitely Judith Anderson's protrayal of the grim, haunting Mrs. Danvers. No one who watches this movie can ever walk away without her creepy silhoutte stuck in their head! After you see this movie, you'll want to see more movies with Miss Anderson
