This movie is great beyond words. While it fails to hold classic status (Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th), I think it is ever bit a good, if not better. The gore is wonderfuly done (somewhat realistic, but sarcasticly so), the acting is perfectly bad for this type of movie and the effects are excelently lackluster as well. Oddly enough, I find all these qualities desireable in an 80's horror film. If you want an off-kilter twist on the zombie genre, Re-Animator is it. |
