This is Martin Scorsese's best movie and that actually says a lot since he's made other really outstanding movies like Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Mean Streets, Gangs of New York, and Kundun. I don't recall anyone ever getting into the skin of a character the way that De Niro actually gained weight to "become" Jake La Motta... Too bad the dvd is out of production now and the only available copies sell for exorbitant prices on auction housese! |
