awful ... don't waste your time ... here's why ...

I was hopeful that this might be a good movie, but I was very disappointed. Here's what I didn't like about it: The acting was mediocre. The voice-over that told the story seemed out of place. The color/lighting of the film was orange...yuck. It was acted-out like a play instead of a movie. The interaction between the characters seemed forced and unnatural. I couldn't understand why Querelle killed the man early in the movie; it didn't make sense. The pace of the movie was very slow, and this made it tedious to watch. It was boring.
I rented it, and I wouldn't think of buying it. It certainly isn't worth the current price...new or used. I don't rate gay movies "A" just because they're gay movies. If it were straight oriented, I would still rate this movie "F". |
