Gary Cooper was a great actor, and does a wonderful job of playing Lou Gehrig. Teresa Wright performs beautifully as well. This is a heartwarming and inspiring movie, despite the sad ending. It does justice to Gehrig, a man whose character was as strong as his athletic ability.
