A really, really poor attempt at a movie
by Frank (movies profile)
May 3, 2006
This dated and very poorly made movie is the story of a glib drifter who gets hired by an idiotic gas-station/hamburger shop owner, who thanks to the shallow dialogue and ridiculous plot is played as thin as cardboard, and in turns steals the owner's wife and kills him.
The plot is drapped entirely on its own plot points, with no obvious human motivation or reason to any of the goings on presented. It's hard to feel sympathy or concern for any of the characters as they manage to be presented as vapid, less-than-human entities. On top of that, they exist in a bizarro reality where the Los Angeles district attorney somehow has the time and psychic abilities necessary to hound the drifter and the owner's murderous wife and catch them in the act of murder. The story ends with an idiotic car crash and murder trial, which is fitting as it is appropriately ham-handed and an immense cliche. |
