John Garfield and Lana Turner light up the screen in this excellent Film Noir of 1946. John Garfield plays a drifter who comes across a roadside gas station/diner owned by kindly Cecil
Callaway. Sultry Lana Turner plays Cecil's much,
much younger wife who takes an immediate attraction to Garfield's character. Garfield & Turner scheme to do away with Turner's husband.
John Garfield & Lana Turner should of been nominated for Oscars for there Bravo performances.
Tay Garnett directed the movie to perfection. This remains one of best Film Noirs of the 40's. |
