Horror movies today can't meet this caliber

This is a great flick. Unlike horror movies today, this film does not rely SOULY on gore to scare the audience. But, rather, tends to lean on the imagination. Spielberg’s excellent direction grabs the audience by the throat and throws them into an unbelievable situation that suddenly seems possible. Most of the actors (including the dog) in this movie are natural with only the little girl's performance seemingly forced and unbelievable. She appeared to be cast for her look rather than her ability. Regardless of your age or sex there is at least one character in this movie that you can relate to. The special effects are spectacular for a 1982 film but there is really nothing special about the cinematography. I highly recommend this film. |
