I have been told by numerous combat veterans who served in Vietnam during the USA occupation that this movie, Platoon, is the most true-to-life Vietnam War depiction ever created. I have to hand it to Oliver Stone on making his movies both credible and entertaining even if it is gruesome manner. The Vietnam War is something no American should ever forget regardless of his/her age or military status.
In this move, I especially liked the performances of Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, and Keith David. I know it has been 20 years since Platoon hit the big screen, but I would still like to congratulate Mr. Stone on a job well done. I've watched it ten times, and will likely watched it another ten times if not more. |
