My favorite horror film by far....

People really underestimate this movie. It is without doubt one of the scariest movies in film history. It is virtually impossible for anyone to not be creeped out by this film at least a little bit. I have a friend that claimed nothing could ever scare him, then that's when I rented this movie for him to watch with me. He had to hide his face so I wouldn't see how pale he was. Throughout the whole thing he kept asking me questions like "Oh, no! What's gonna happen now?" And I always answered the same way: "Watch and find out...". Boy, I sure proved him wrong, I probably should have bet some money on it but oh well.
Now let's be serious folks, what could be more horrifying than seeing your own family coming after you to kill you. Your family is the one thing that you'd least expect to come after you, and that is where Stephen King steps in to turn that all around. This is classic horror and only an idiot wouldn't agree with that. If you don't think that this movie is scary, then you probably didn't put yourself in the main character's shoes (Louis Creed [Father]). Just picture this: you discover an ancient indian burial ground that has the power to bring back the dead, however there is a catch, whoever you bury will come back evil. Now you have a three year-old son and he is growing up to be a great boy, but one day you take your eyes off of him for only a minute and your son gets killed by accident. Now you are a desperate father who feels responsible for your son's death, and now that time has gone by that curious thought is still in the back of your head. Now what would happen if your curiosity got the best of you, even though you know the consequences if you do it. You decide. But if you want to find out the descision that Louis Creed made, see this movie, if not, then you're missing out big time. |
