So True to Life
by Amanda (movies profile)

For anyone who has seen "Parenthood" you'll find that this movie is so true to life. I know a lot of us like to watch something that gets us away from reality but this movie is just so funny and sad all at once. All of the characters and the family they belong to are what you would find in a true life family. I sat back and watched this thinking, "I've heard my dad say that before" or "I've fought with my siblings like that". It's an amazing cast full of talents and anyone wanting to laugh and possibly cry should see this!
Steve Martin, as always, is hilarious and just an all around good guy. He has a semi-dysfunctional family that he attempts to fix but isn't overly successful. Again, very true to life because some things are beyond our control which Martin's character seems to not realize or accept. He likes order and wants guarantees but his wife played by Mary Steenburgen puts him in his place and offers up support for her husband.
It's a movie that was made perfectly and will stand the test of time. The title is a perfect fit as well and anyone that has seen this and didn't like it, I have no clue why. Nothing about this movie is off or in bad taste, it's amazing. |
