Really Good But Lacked the Power of the Novel...

The movie had many strong points including staying very true to the book and having brilliant performances done by young stars that are well known now days. Though it wasn't how I truely imagined how the town was and it did not show when they were in school. It stuck too much to the plot and rarely wondered from it to enjoy the scenery like the book did. The movie also lacked the love and conflicts in the family, this could've been fixed by adding internal-dialogue (show what they are thinking in their heads) and revealing the true love, friendship, hatred, and pain. But don't get me wrongly, this movie is worth buying on DVD and watch it over and over, but since it is an old adaptation, I believe it must be renewed by a new version, and make up for the first one's mistake... |
