This is a very long movie with a plot that is very thin, very non-substantial. Meryl Streep is such a fantastic actress, so watching her is great. However, there is no substance to this storyline. She is a bored baroness who hangs out at home with her books and cigarettes while her husband is off hunting and philandering STD. Robert Redford is the free spirit she falls for, but he too has trouble committing to her. Gorgeous scenery, good acting, but unsubstantial plot. |
