Here it is, the original in all its creepy glory. Gregory Peck is outstanding as the father who goes to all lengths to find out whether his cute little boy is...SATAN. Turns out, Damien is, and there is hell to pay. A Nanny gleefully hangs herself, a priest is impaled, and Lee Remick falls off a balcony before she is finally done in at the hospital by the meanest nanny of them all. Rottweillers abound and genuinely frighten, baboons have never been scarier, either. And the Oscar winning score is probably the best horror movie music of all. This movie has aged beautifully. It is a bonafide Horror Classic! |
