If you can get up with the kids (or grandkids) with a smile on your face, if you can delight in a child's play and imaginations, if you are a TRUE fan of sci-fi/fantasy, then you are young at heart and this is a movie for you. I would have to admit that even some 20 years after being made, it holds a magical "child-like" quality to capture the imagination with its paradigm-shifting story and characters.
I will admit though, that I have helped a few cynical, hard-bitten, BORING friends come back to life with a viewing. I guess they caught onto the message: NEVER QUIT DREAMING. My dad used to tell me to keep my feet on the ground. Sorry Daddy, but dreamers won't be kept down. |
