I saw this film and was amazed at Daniel Day Lewis' performance. Here we have a handicapped
gentleman with a great,extraordinary artistic ability.Although he has cerebral palsy, Christy Brown has remarkable use of his left foot to draw and paint;
Some sadder scenes were in a bar, where people start laughing,making fun of his impaired speech.That is cruel,even in today's generation.
One tender scene is when he tries to be sentimental with Mary, and she finally gives in to him in marriage.It seems that life is hard enough,in any Country.It gets harder still, when you can't function as normal as people want you to. |
