I was in high school when this movie opened, and we all went to go see it then. Now that I have kids of my own, we rented this and guess what? It holds up, nearly 30 years later. There are enough funny parts for the kids that they're amused, and there are enough grown-up jokes (at one point there's a quote from Blazing Saddles that of course I missed when I saw it in high school) that we're engaged, and altogether everyone's happy. Definitely a good choice for a multi-age gathering, or for family movie night. |
