Another overlooked DeNiro film. The pairing of DeNiro and Charles Grodin was sheer casting brilliance. As a burnt out bounty hunter in for one final score DeNiro shows his versatility in stretching out for laughter and mayhem. Grodin is the perfect straight foil to DeNiro's macho style. The scene on the train where DeNiro, fed up with Grodin's incessent whinng finally responds by saying, "If you don't shut up you're gonna suffer from fistaphobia" is priceless. Overall another sleeper that I must say deserves a second look. |
