This is a compelling story because Sir Thomas More must choose between loyalty to one's King or to one's church.Sir Thomas More choose the church. The acting by the entire cast is outstanding.Paul Scofield does a real good job of acting playing Sir Thomas More.Robert Shaw also does a real good job playing King Henry VIII of England.Director Fred Zinneman does an excellent job of directing this period film. The visuals are all oustating the music, costumes and sets. This film is overall oustanding because we still must decide issues of church and state. There is a film called Anne of Thousands Days which has a different view point of this period. It is also a well made film. |
