Richard Harris gives one of his best performances in this 1970 film about a white Englishman who learns the ways of the Sioux Indians after he is captured by them in the Dakota territory. Well directed by Elliot Silverstein on location in Mexico, with an excellent music score by Leonard Rosenman and brilliant cinematography to boot, A MAN CALLED HORSE could be considered as a forerunner to Kevin Costner's better-known 1990 Oscar winner DANCES WITH WOLVES. |
