By todays standards - the action is a little mild but the story was great, the actor selection - impeccable (almost all became stars in their own rights), the one liners are unbeatable. Each character is memorable for himself. Small moments of greatness by each of the leads. It's like having 7 'man with no names' at the same time. I own the movie but still watch it on tv sometimes. The score - what else can be said. How can you not like this cast?
Yul Brenner - "Shoo some flies from a little village"
Steve Mcqueen - "Seemed like the thing to do at the time"
Charles Bronson - "Mister - I sure admire your sense of fairplay"
Robert Vaughn - "There was a time when I would have caught all three..."
James Coburn - "Nobody throws me my own guns... nobody"
Brad Dexter - "Chris ... no tricks"
Horst Bucholtz - "Farmers... I hate them"
Old Mexican - "I have NEVER shared their enthusiam for fertilizer!" |
