I think this this is a very outstanding show. At the beginning, the show is humourous, with the jokes played by comedien Roberto Benigni. It seem a tres romantique movie as I watched Guido and Dora havig a loving relationship. I liked the scene where Guido ride on a horse into a weeding ceremony in order to stop Dora from marrying another guy. It is humorous, yet romantic.
Years later, they marry and have a cild played by Geogia. I think he is extremly cute. But the story carried ubdergoes an unfortunate twist when Guido, being a Jews is prosecuted by the Nazis along with his son. Dora is not a Jew thus avoid the cruel fate but she insisted still to go with his husband. That was a very touching scene.
I like the character Guido. He is a good husband, a good father and a good riddler(to the German doctor in the film).
In all I like this movie very much. It's different from all other comedy or real-life movie. It just depicts of a normal family, but from there, we come to know more deeply of the harshess of the Nazis; their torture towards the Jews. Somemore, we get the feel eternal love in the small family circle. The actors have acted very well to show the daily life of a family. Love and passion, that's what I learn from the movie. It touches me. However, I felt sad when this petite family circle is destroyed by the cruel Nazis when Guido was killed by them. That's what I calle: "vie", the process of going through sufferings and joyness.
I admire the movie very much but at the same time, I have bad remarks about it. I felt that the ending is to "hasty", it just say of the americans rescueing the Jews but not really emphaszing on the "eternal love" of the family. Dora also does not seem very sad when Guido dies. That's etrange!!! Well, I think the ending needs improvement. However, the introduction is great -the countryside, they hay. It gives the audience a refreshing appetizer and introduce a more "flavoured and cold main meal" as they movie progresse.... |
