"Legend" is the fourth film from film master-mind Ridley Scott. This film is beautifuly shot, easly transending from the light fairy tale wonder of the opening to the dark and dispared world that follows. This film is, in my opinion, the first truly amazing fantasy film to come out of Hollywood.
Plot: "There can be no light without me... I am Darkness." This is the tag-line for the film, and after reading it may become ease to find the plot to this film. The Lord of Darkness wish to cover the world into eternal night. Before he can do so, he must destroy the keepers of Light, the last of the Unicorns. Now Jack, a child of the woods, must set out to restore light to the now dark world.
Though wonderfly acted as this film was, there are two preformances that stand out against the others; Tim Curry as Darkness and Alice Playten and the ryhming troll Blix.
"Legend" is by far one of Ridley Scott's stand out works. It plays itself like a Grimm Brothers tale. "Legend" is a beautifuly crafted fairy tale for the ages, and by far one of the greatest fantasy films of our time. |
