This movie has been described as a horror movie for too long. This is not horror, more a documentary about rape & murder. I don't know why Wes felt the need to make this completely unenjoyable piece of celluloid. There arn't really any redeeming qualities. Virtually devoid of gore, action or tension. It is long painful viewing & the revenge themed ending really detracts from the tragedy of the first half - almost justifying the traumatic experience of the 2 girls just to give a reason to the perpetrators in a nasty fashion at the end. This movie has no flair, *****ty visuals & acting - What acting. Wes Cravens first movie & although he went on to do great things, this movie is a pile of *****. Do not bother you won't enjoy this. |
