A musical science fiction film.

This film reminded me of a mix of
Dr. Doolittle(1969) and The Black Hole(1979). I could have done without the musical scenes, but for the era it was acceptable and pretty much expected. I was impressed with the advanced graphics, expecially the underground sea and somekind of killer lizards. I was also impressed by some of the theories and ideas of what the center of the earth would look like, minus the City of Atlantis which was a little "disney" and unneeded. But they wanted to add a sense of fantasy that we could relate to from past Greek mythology to gain our belief. Although, Atlantis may very well be just as much of a myth as an underground salt mine. |
