Jim Halsey (C. Thomas Howell) is a young man who is returning a car to San Diego one rainy night, but runs into trouble on the way. After he picks up John Ryder (Rutger Hauer), the psychotic hitchhiker turns Jim's life into hell. After pushing Ryder out of the car, Halsey is stalked by the maniacal killer as he plays cat-and-mouse with Jim. The original is way better, darker and chilling than the sequel and has better transfer than the second. Howell and Hauer's chemistry was some of the best I've seen on film. |
