No self-respecting horror fan can dismiss, or have ever not seen, Hellraiser--this is the best of Clive Barker's film adaptations, and is a milestone in disturbing horror.
From its gritty opening shot, which looks like a true, bloody Hell, to its explosive finale, this film never fails to please.
Watching the gradual resurrection of the nefarious Frank, Kirstie's battle with the insanity around her, and the intimadating power of the Cenobites, one really feels launched into a mirror-reality where nothing is sacred.
Howbeit, there are some parts of this film which do look a bit ridiculous--like the wall monster, or the typical 80's laser images--they pale next to the film's overall impact.
A must see.
