Great movie for Easter!

I watched this magnificent portral of the life of Christ. The cinematography was superb, and Max Von Sydow was very moving as Jesus. The man who portrayed the Devil was excellent, and reminded me of how what we say and think can cause so much trouble for others. I wonder where this movie was made? I will be researching that.
I loved the desert scenery, and the scenes shot at dusk with people in silhouette. I loved the many scenes with Jesus speaking his words to the diciples and others that ring true to this day. I wonder why they had Judas die in the sacrificial fire ,instead of showing the truth about Judas repenting, bringing back the 30 pieces of silver and admitting he had sinned, then, hanging himself, when the men who gave him the money would not take it back, as the Bible states-Matthew 27:3-5. One could have had more pity on the man who betrayed Jesus, for he was very human, and misjudged those in power who were only men of their word in so far as getting Judas to betray Jesus, but not in leaving Jesus unharmed. |
