This is one of those films that will always be funny. Not only funny, but touching as well. Its about a Jewish Barber, who looks like dictator Hinkle. Chaplin pulls off both roles wonderfully. Many sight gabs are strewn throug out the classic black and white film. To me Chaplin was the Woody Allen of his time. So if you like woody allen, check out some chaplin. And if you don't like woody allen then check out chaplin. This movie is made from a labor of love. You can tell that Charlie Chaplin loved his work and in the Great Dictaor it definately shows. There is a great scene where the Dictator Hinkle plays with a globe, its wonderfully symbolic. A must see if you ask me. See it now impress your grandparents. |
