THE best Bond film ever. Connery is at his best in this film, Oddjob is the best henchman ever, and ***** Galore is the most suggestive name ever. Gert Fobre is great as Goldfinger, despite being dubbed. The script improves on Fleming's book, although it has one minor flaw, John Barry's score is a classic, and Guy Hamilton's tongue-in-cheek direction is genius. What puts Goldfinger on top is that it has so many classic idea's that people associate with Bond A few are: quips, a supercar, Q's rage, the deadly bowler hat, suggestive female names, pre credits sequences, and John Barry's score. As far as I'm concerned, this started it all. |
